MAMMOGRAM

 
The Laszlo Tabar Breast Centre utilises the GE Senographe DS Digital Mammography machine providing the lowest dose mammography available.
   

ULTRASOUND

 
Ultrasound imaging uses high frequency sound waves to view inside the body. The images are captured in real-time and can show doctors the movement of the body’s internal organs and blood flows through the blood vessels.
   

BREAST MRI

 
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an advanced and painless scan that allows doctors to look at the soft tissues of the body without the use of x-rays.
   

BONE MINERAL DENSITY/BODY COMPOSTION (DEXA)

 
A BMD is a simple scan that measures the density of your bones, usually at the hip and spine. BMD uses a DEXA scanner (Dual Energy X-ray Absorption) DEXA works by passing two very low dose x-ray beams at differing energy levels through the bones. Bones with different densities will absorb the x-rays differently, allowing computer calculations of the relative densities.
