Biopsies

Biopsies

Biopsies and Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA) are procedures used to collect tissue or cell samples for further analysis by a pathologist. A biopsy involves removing a small tissue sample, often guided by imaging techniques such as ultrasound to ensure precision. FNAs are a less invasive option that uses a thin, hollow needle to extract cells for evaluation. FNAs are particularly effective for examining superficial masses or lymph nodes and are commonly used to investigate thyroid nodules, breast lumps, and enlarged lymph nodes.
