Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram, or cardiac ultrasound, uses high-frequency sound waves to create detailed images of the heart and its surrounding blood vessels. This non-invasive procedure helps evaluate the heart’s structure, movement, and overall functionality. A transducer emits sound waves, which bounce off heart structures and return to create real-time visuals, allowing healthcare providers to assess the heart’s performance.
