Women’s Imaging
At our Specialist Women’s Imaging Centre on the Sunshine Coast, we are dedicated to addressing the unique health needs of women in a compassionate and supportive environment. Led by Dr. Sean O’Connor, the Sunshine Coast’s only Radiologist with a Fellowship in Women’s Imaging, our centre is supported by a team of highly skilled and experienced technical staff. Together, we deliver comprehensive and thorough imaging services tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr. O’Connor ensures that every patient fully understands their examination and results by being readily available to answer clinical questions. Reports are prepared promptly with detailed, professional analysis.

Professor László Tabár is a globally renowned physician, researcher, and educator whose 40+ year career has revolutionised breast cancer detection and treatment. His pioneering research established the foundation for modern mammographic screening, and he has personally interpreted over one million mammograms. A dedicated mentor, Professor Tabár has trained tens of thousands of breast imagers, surgeons, and pathologists worldwide, saving countless lives through his work.
Dr O’Connor, personally mentored by Professor Tabár, is recognised as an expert in breast imaging, renowned for outstanding clinical expertise.
The László Tabár Breast Centre, featuring advanced GE Senographe DS Digital Mammography for low-dose imaging, was inaugurated in 2009 by Professor Tabár and Dr Tom Stavros, a pioneer in breast ultrasound. In 2014, the Centre was officially dedicated to Professor Tabár in honour of his achievements and Nobel Prize nomination. During his visit, he praised the Centre’s ‘excellent, high-quality service’ for women in the community.
